Balancing the needs of this varied constituency is an ongoing task. There are high tech, high paying jobs avail- able with employers such as Westinghouse and Martin Marietta and service oriented jobs available in our tourist industry. There is also a need for balance in the area of education funding. Part of my district is in Orange County which has a lot of urban development and a large commercial tax base while the other portion is in Seminole County which is mostly residential and, therefore, has a smaller tax base. Continual demands revolve around our need for employment and our tax base which directly affects our education funding.
